MONEY ORDERS / OFFICIAL CHECKS: 

 

Money Orders: 

At Liberty Trust & Savings Bank we offer both Bank Money Orders and Personal Money Orders. A Bank Money Order is a draft drawn by the bank on the bank, signed by a bank officer, allowing the individual named on the order to receive a specified amount of cash on demand. The name of the purchaser, the payee and the amount are entered at the time the money orders are purchased from the bank. Customers can purchase a Bank Money Order with cash or funds collected from an account at the bank. 

 

A Personal Money Order is much like a one time checking account. The customer purchases the money order, fills in the payee and signs it instead of a bank employee signing it. The bank will fill in the amount of the money order at the time of purchase. Customers can purchase a Personal Money Order with cash or funds collected from an account at the bank. 

 

Liberty Trust & Savings Bank charges $1.00 for customers and $2.00 for non-customers for both types of money orders. 

 

Official Checks: 

An Official Check is a check issued by Liberty Trust & Savings Bank for the amount paid to the bank by the purchaser. They are purchased with cash or collected funds collected from a customers account. 

 

The name of the purchaser, the payee and amount are entered at the time of purchase at the bank and the check is signed by bank employees. It is guaranteed by the bank and does not depend on the account of a private individual or business. Thus, Official Checks are generally used to make purchases or pay for services when payment require a higher level of reliability and security than a personal check or cash. 

 

Liberty Trust & Savings Bank charges $5.00 for an Official Check.
